Day 1: Arrival at JRO

Your Kilimanjaro expedition begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Upon landing, you’ll be warmly greeted and assisted by our experienced team, marking the commencement of your Tanzanian adventure. We’ll ensure your smooth transfer to your accommodation in Arusha. This arrival day provides a crucial period for rest, acclimatization, and a comprehensive pre-climb briefing to ensure you’re well-prepared for the ascent.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate (2,385m) to Big Tree Camp (2,780m)

Your Kilimanjaro journey kicks off at the Lemosho Gate (2,385 meters or 7,825 feet). On Day 2, you’ll register, meet your seasoned guides and fellow trekkers, and board on a captivating hike through the lush rainforests. The trail is teeming with unique flora and fauna. Your first night will be spent at Big Tree Camp (2,780 meters or 9,121 feet).

Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)

Day 3 leads you from Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp. The hike, lasting around 6 to 7 hours, takes you through the enchanting rainforests and into the heather zone. You’ll ascend to an elevation of 3,505 meters (11,500 feet) and spend the night at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,840m)

On Day 4, continue your journey from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp. This leg of the trek involves traversing the moorland and offers captivating vistas. You’ll reach an elevation of 3,840 meters (12,598 feet) and spend the night at Shira 2 Camp.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Day 5 takes you from Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp. The hike includes crossing the Shira Plateau, providing breathtaking panoramas. Afterward, you’ll descend to Barranco Camp, situated at an elevation of 3,960 meters (12,992 feet). The hiking time is approximately 6 to 7 hours.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)

Begin Day 6 by conquering the Barranco Wall, a thrilling rock scramble. As you traverse rocky terrain, you’ll ascend to Karanga Camp at an elevation of 4,035 meters (13,238 feet). The hiking time on this day is around 4 to 5 hours.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,680m)

On Day 7, journey through the alpine desert landscapes, steadily ascending to Barafu Camp. At an elevation of 4,680 meters (15,354 feet), this camp serves as your final base before the summit push. Expect a 3 to 4-hour hike on this day.

Day 8: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Day 8 is the culmination of your adventure, commencing with the summit attempt. You’ll rise either late on Day 7 or early on the following day, depending on your pace. The ascent will lead you through challenging scree slopes and past the mesmerizing Gilman’s Point (5,681 meters or 18,638 feet) on the crater rim. Finally, you’ll reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters or 19,341 feet), the highest point in Africa, where you’ll celebrate your remarkable achievement. Afterward, begin the descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters or 10,170 feet).

Day 9: Departure

Day 8 is the culmination of your adventure, commencing with the summit attempt. You’ll rise either late on Day 7 or early on the following day, depending on your pace.
